James’ journey is one we’ll never forget. When he arrived at the guardroom at RAF Cranwell for the 2023 selection process, he almost turned around and went home. But he didn’t. He took a breath, found his courage, and walked through those doors.
That single moment changed everything!
James went on to be awarded a scholarship, and the experience transformed not just his life, but his family’s too. The confidence, friendships and sense of belonging he discovered through FSDP continue to shape his future – and now he’s paying it forward by supporting new candidates as a mentor.
