Today we celebrate another incredible FSDP family birthday! Meet Dawn Geer, a 2017 scholar who didn’t just conquer her fear of flying — she soared into new purpose, becoming a mentor and later Head Mentor.
When we asked Dawn why she applied for a scholarship, she shared:
“I thought I simply wanted to conquer my fear of flying! I had lost confidence in my ability, hadn’t grieved for a lost career or found a sense of purpose. FSDP gave me back my self-respect and help me establish achievable goals to optimise my mental health. I am passionate about sharing the work that FSDP does so others can benefit as much as I have.
Becoming a mentor for FSDP in 2019 was a true privilege and I could witness the transformation happen to others who needed a boost or catalyst for positive change. The FSDP family has supported me since 2017 and I delight in volunteering my time and encouraging others to challenge themselves.”
Dawn’s journey shows the power of courage, mentorship, and community. Could YOU be the next scholar we celebrate in years to come?
