A great Draken Europe initiative that has really taken off in the past year or so is the sale of bespoke Draken flight patches designed to celebrate support to the RAF’s big biannual training serials, Exercise Cobra Warrior.
The visually dynamic patches have quickly captured the attention of the aviation enthusiast community and dedicated collectors.
Designed by Teesside-based Electronic Warfare Officer Paul ‘Cheesy’ Heasman, the goal has always been to use their sale as a vehicle to raise money for good causes and we are delighted to announce that the latest sold- out edition of 200 created for Exercise Cobra Warrior 25-2 has raised a truly impressive £1,750 for Flying Scholarships for Disabled People. The charity aims to change the lives of disabled adults by offering the opportunity to learn to fly, as well as other aviation experiences.
Teesside-based Falcon 20 Captain Tony Cann is a trustee of Flying Scholarships for Disabled People, and he suggested that this edition could raise funds to support this worthy cause. The charity traces its roots to the achievements of Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader and the scholarships it provides boost confidence, self-esteem and aspirations, helping people achieve what they, and others, never thought possible.
